Becky, everyone has to learn the hard way but we, as parents, all want to spare our kids the pain. And Sarah, I know my parents wanted to make sure I had cooking, sewing, and secretarial skills before I entered the real world. I can type like a demon but failed on the other two counts.

Heck, our daughter has been out of the house for a year and there's still things I'd like to teach her. She'll learn eventually. I just wish she would have listened enough to learn from us, instead of the hard way.
