I really, really love this piece, Emily. I hope you submit it somewhere beyond the MoB: more readers deserve a chance to read it! I found myself grinning goofily to myself at many junctures while reading your piece. What I admire most is Chase’s ability to be who he his, how he’s ambled through life at HIS pace, and YOUR trust that he will get to where he needs to be when he needs to get there. A blissfully symbiotic relationship, to be sure. Really great.

Exactly what I was thinking – this is his father to a “T” (whatever that means.) It’s like flash-forward photography when it happens, saw it with James as well, but you say it so well!
