Despite the eye-rolling from some of the younger ones in my house-hold, I often turn on classical music on Sunday nights and insist on an extended reading period, often lighting a few candles during the "dark" winter...the trade-off is that desert is always "Sunday Sundaes" when I let them go wild with toppings on the ice cream without my usual eye-rolling... Hear, hear!! We follow a similar rhythm in our house, too. We often eat early and don't really do too much. It's different, of course, because I have a toddler underfoot, but I find myself saying "no" to more and more things these days in order to say "yes" to more of these unplanned, unguarded moments.
