I've said for a while that the kids' dentist is too far away...now we have one closer to home! The whole thing rubs me b/c I know that if I called our pediatrician under the same circumstances they would say no problem, drive carefully...and she's an even longer drive (but worth it!). For the record, I DID call as soon as I knew I wouldn’t make it on time (which was still before the scheduled time) and all OZ could tell me was to basically hurry up or it’ll be too late. Maikael was seeing this great doctor, and I wanted to see him, too, for a check-up. My appointment was canceled THREE TIMES, and it ultimately took me six MONTHS to get in. When I did, I discovered he'd left the practice and I was seen by a "substitute." Not what I'd waited six months for. I wrote a letter, and never received a response. Good doctors (mine at least) know who their late-runners are and the times when I have been late and called ahead (stuck in traffic, whatever) have all assured me it was ok and either rescheduled with no penalty or took me late, whatever worked.
