Love it, and I am in your boat as well...on both counts. My father once left all three of us on the side of the road in Nova Scotia because we wouldn't stop bickering in the back seat. I'd likely be arrested if I did that these days, but surely I can come up with a few winners of my own. Thanks for the inspiration!

I'm thinking I missed a magnificent punishment opportunity yesterday which would have made a Tale For The Ages. I should have made my daughter walk in the drizzle to the bus stop...because we no sooner got in the car for the short ride when the skies let loose with a tsunami of rain that would have left her drenched from head to toe for the next week...with or without an umbrella. What a great story that would have been...The Day The Drizzle Became A Deluge....oh well, next time....

I am a firm believer in logical consequences. So, the kid who refused to make his lunch was surprised when he got to school and his teacher would not allow him to eat from the snack bin and the school secretary was surprisingly "out" of PB and J that day.

I'm right there with you. The best/only punishment I've delivered is "no screen time." It's a fate worse than death for one of my children, but it definitely doesn't cut it as a story for recounting to his grandchildren some day.
