I left never skiing again after scream-skiing down the hill and running into a fence. That has been my only ski run. Maggie has friends who have graciously taken her skiing... and... gulp... she loves it. So far, she hasn't asked us to take her skiing... I had about a 15 year lapse and then went on ski's for the first time last year because my son is learning. The gear, the cost. The cold. It's really just too much. The funny thing is, where I live, in VT, all the other moms are out there showing all of us how amazing it is to be out there (actually, most are snowboarding...), and how amazingly cool all their kids are too...wish I felt the same. I had fun, but I'd rather walk out my door, put on my snowshoes and go! Then of course the after, with hot chocolate and warming up, is nice. You did good by getting out there this time, so can be proud to just sit back and relax next time... Hi Emily, I feel for you! Liked that I didn't have to fear the near-death wipe-outs, and you get very warm right away, even when it is 12 degrees in Becket, MA. Best comment of the morning goes to my husband, who told me that I was "very good at getting back up after you fall." Apre ski still the best, however!
