Oh no….someone at work just complimented my sweater and I’m pretty sure I said “Theenks”. This is terrible.

Agree, bad furniture choices! Didn’t they have four years to shop more carefully?

Some of my gay friends have been bashing the shoes worn by the commentators, especially Dick Button’s clunky black “old dyke” footwear.

Last night, Tom Brokaw looked like he was wearing orthopedic, built-up patent leather cowboy boots. I couldn’t focus on what he was saying about some tragedy involving some athlete and the athlete’s inspirational family. I believe there was one-fingered piano music in the background.

And Anne H, you are so right about Bob Costas. His eyes are looking way too round, another dead giveaway that someone has been sneaking off to visit the plastic surgeon.

I keep noticing that Bob Costas’ face is looking kinda tight (plastic surgery for sure) and the color of his face doesn’t match the color of his hands–at least on my TV…..also a little heavy on the Grecian formula.

Totally agree about the awkard couches, they need a coffee table or desk to cover up their goofy looking pants.

Oh yea, the sports are entertaining too.

Where did NBC find those awkward chairs for their studio? Everyone’s jackets and pants are riding up on them. The athletes end up looking like Lurch.

We’ve enjoyed everything that didn’t involve ice dancing.

Wow…to think you’ve been having these exact same conversations in your home too! The snowboarder jean issue has been haunting me for days. Now I know. And did you catch those Russian ice dancers in their crazy “aboriginal” costumes? Yikes!!

Theenks for the post. I am loving the Olympics but not the coverage. I miss all those wonderful up close and personal vignettes. And what’s up with all the commercials.

But I can’t go to be until midnight in case I miss something really special.

OMG, yes, the Aboriginal garb! Leave it to the Russians to be unapologetically un-PC. Apparently the guy originally wore blackface and the mortified Olympics committee had to talk him out of it repeating that little stunt.

Many of the same thoughts flashed through my head this weekend – snowboarders’ jeans, brother/sister ice dance teams, the preponderance of cowboys & cowgirls. Particularly disturbing to me was the Russian ice dancing couple in aboriginal garb. Particularly hilarious was the medley of ice dance falls from Torino. Both Husband and I were in hysterical tears. (Probably not the reaction the editors at NBC were going for.)

I love it all, especially the obscure sports no one watches except in the Olympics. But with “life intervening” I haven’t gotten to watch as much as I would like so I’m not at saturation point yet either. Sorry I missed the freestyle jumps. I’ve liked my kids watching things like snowboard cross and saying, “No WAY would I ever do that! That looks WAY too dangerous.” Please let that last.

And yes, Blades of Glory has been invoked around here numerous times in the last week. I need to watch the whole thing now!
