It’s the World Series, so the right thing to do is to bring a worthless baseball, lacrosse ball, or a peeled potato and throw it out in exchange for the Game ball. A Game ball souvenir always supersedes sheep like responses. If you are found out, then leave your seat. You just had one of the best experiences you will ever have as a baseball fan. And years later when you are spinning your baseball fan bonafides to your progeny, your tale will ring with the clarity of truth because you can show the ball.

Yes, Sarah, you have many sterling qualities, which I never realized should be ascribed to your hometown sports woes. Your children have indeed been spoiled rotten but I’m sure they’ll turn out just fine nevertheless.
And Jim, I remember you brought Sam to one of those WS games where he couldn’t hide behind the couch. Mitch admits he’s reminded every day of throwing that last awful pitch and he’s OK with that. Vindication at last!

I remember spray painting that Christmas dove blue…the first of many theatrical props to follow. I watched the game with my son who, as a 9 year old hid behind our couch as Mitch Williams threw him one of life’s toughest lessons: nothing is for certain. But, faith reborn, I re-baptised a 24 year old in beer. Glory Hallelujah!

Congratulations Phillies fans (what’s a Philly anyway? Dumb question, I realize you’re going to answer A PHLLY IS A WORLD CHAMPION!) Have fun at the parade. My championship-spoiled rotten son’s home teams have experienced two worlds series championships, one NBA championship, and three superbowls in his twelve years! I grew up in loser land Cleveland home of the last place everything when i was threr, and you tell me if it build a lot of character in me!
