I missed 98% of Seinfeld, but never miss Curb. The first few seasons we thought Larry was crazy, but my wife pointed out recently that Larry is the only sane person (or maybe we have just been drawn over to his neurotic world view). Larry has taught me that hiring a chef with tourettes is a dicey proposition.

This is truly insightful, Jennifer. And Lindsay beat me to the punch by suggesting “The Office” (especially the British version) as a similar comedy of manners. There is something painfully true about the Larry David comedies, just as there is about the Ricky Gervais varieties. These are people we know – and really don’t want to be.

You were the one who mentioned to me “The Office” teaches your kids what not to do in the office. I find it absolutely painful to watch, I am so embarassed for them, especially Dwight! I am always reminding Liam to make sure he knows this is not a typical office!

Curb Your Enthusiasm is “preeeeeeety good.” I LOVE that show; we recently started watching it on DVD and can’t stop! I was never a fan of Seinfeld (although Maikael was), and I find “Curb” imminently more watchable. I think because Larry David is way more aware of his social ineptness than any of the Seinfeld characters ever were (IMHO). He knows how to give a “mea culpa” better. Larry David reminds me that, even if I put my foot in my mouth, it will NEVER be as bad as when Larry David puts his foot in his mouth!
