Em....what a great job! I, as your sibling, am especially proud of you, Jennifer, and your blog. You said this one would make me laugh, and it truly did. As a mother of only daughters I have always found your life to be so "cool"..you are a wonderful mother and writer. I am lucky enough to know Motze and can confirm to all your readers that he is, in fact, fine after the "tick" removal attempt. Love U!!!

I loved your tale about your pug and as a former pug owner can really relate to it. Your writting is enjoyable for anyone, not just mothers of brothers but to grammy's and others a like. Keep it up, I look forward to many more heart warming tales.

Last spring, Otis had a "cyst" on his face that I was playing with all day, touching it with my fingers. I later showed it to my neighbor, who promptly told me it was a tick, and she removed it with tweezers while I held the dog still. Ugggh.... If it hadn't been on his face, I would have never found it in my shaggy long-haired golden retriever.

Congrats on the blog and I can't wait to read more.

Not only did you offer me a great, unexpected burst of laughter in my basement this afternoon but you made me so grateful that ticks are one thing I DON'T have to worry about so much raising my three boys in the Chicago suburbs...or do I? Congrats on your launch and thanks for giving MOBs a way to connect!

Emily and Jennifer: Congrats! Wonderful job! Love the post. I can relate as we live in the country and have ticks, and RATS too as they are very common in the woods of california. I actually got LYME disease in 1994 but luckily identified it and got it treated. So do beware.
Cheers to you for the new site.

Em - I can just imagine the look on your faces when you realized what you had done. We already found one tick attached to Justin this season. Right behind the ear. The kids are very used to our nightly "tick checks." I am no doctor (must be said b/c I am a lawyer), but I have read that if you catch them very early (within 24 hours) it is next to impossible to get lyme. So keep up the tick checks!
