Unlike Emily, I am a mother of sisters: Emma (5) and Phoebe (2). I think I always assumed I would have girls…while I would hardly categorize myself as a “girly girl,” I am much more comfortable with playing dress up and watercolors than wrestling and dodge ball. But while I thought having girls would be easier because we are all….girls, sometimes I think we have TOO much in common. Emotions tend to run high in my house – I swear that even my female dog rolls her eyes at me in exasperation and embarrassment. While I wonder what it would be like to have a boy, I wouldn’t trade my girls for the world. I love the giggles, tap-dancing, dresses and hair ribbons…but most of all, it is their sweet smell, loving smiles and gentle hugs that make my day. Happy to bring some estrogen to Mothers of Brothers!
