The Big Sort
As we say a fond farewell to another Halloween season, I leave you with this image depicting a tradition that will be handed down for generations to come. No matter how plugged in, automated, enabled, or entitled our kids become, they will always manually sort their candy and the relish in its complete splendor.

I note the complete absence of $100,000 Bars, the only one worth pilfering from my kids’ stashes, IMHO. My kids didn’t bring any home either. Has my fave has fallen out of favor?

Emily, Your photo brought back memories of all my son’s friends congregating at our house after the “Big Haul” and how they would empty their pillow cases on the living room rug and swap candy. My neighbor, a little 70 year old, would come over and somehow get all the Mounds and Almond Joys off my kids. And I would try to sneak all the chocolate and freeze it, and pull it out for christmas and their christmas stockings. I miss Halloween. We used to get 60 kids, this year we got 4.
