Last week, Emily alluded to a new Friday tradition that will begin today here at MOB. Whichever one of us is writing will post a photo from the previous week in this space, and the image will do most of the talking. Sometimes, it may even speak for itself.
Today’s photo completes my car-centric theme for this week. A few days ago we traded in our gas hog Honda Pilot and got a Jetta TDI Sportwagon. Hugh & Malcolm approve.

So cool! I totally dig these and every time I mention it Em thinks I’m nuts for wanting a diesel… Perhaps it harkens back to the days of my first VW… a putrid green VW Rabbit with 80,000 NYC miles on it passed down to me b/c everyone else just passed on it…

Really, it’s cooler than your current minivan?! Funny, Chris’s first VW was a yellow bug whose steering wheel column starting smoking once when I was driving it on the Schuylkill Expressway in the early 80s. It had to be towed and I had to hitch a ride with a male stranger who was not a psycho. Finally, I was ready to go back into the VW water. Yes, I would be happy to give Emily a test drive.
